Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you give us.
Nessa Laundry Co. operates nessalaundry.co.ke. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We handle personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
When you book a pickup, send us a message or place an order, we ask for:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address, if you give us one
- Your collection address, including estate, road, house number and landmark
- Details of the items you're sending and any notes you add
Our website also records basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, through standard server logs and any analytics we use.
Why we collect it
- To collect from you, clean your items and return them
- To contact you about your order, including confirming times and prices
- To keep a record of orders for accounting and for resolving disputes
- To improve how the website works
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it's needed to run the service. That means our hosting provider, our email provider, and payment processors such as M-Pesa where you pay through them. Each receives only what they need. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order and contact records are kept for as long as we need them to provide the service and meet tax and accounting obligations, then deleted. Enquiries that don't turn into orders are deleted once they're no longer relevant.
Keeping it secure
The website runs over HTTPS. Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
- Stop using your data for a particular purpose
Email hello@nessalaundry.co.ke and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Cookies
The site uses cookies only where they're needed to make it work and to understand how it's used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave differently.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
